LEIGH’s newly-elected MP visited one of the town’s most popular cultural events, as he toured the Leigh Art Trail.
David Burton-Sampson, the Labour MP for Southend West and Leigh, joined residents in celebrating the town’s vibrant arts scene with a stop at St Clement’s Church.
Here, he enjoyed the impressive work of long-time participant Violette Dooley.
Mr Burton-Sampson said: “Friday I visited St Clement’s Church and saw the wonderful work of Violette Dooley who has been involved in the trail for many years.”
The event at St Clement’s Church was further supported by Mother Cherry Ignatia, a prominent local figure renowned for her commitment to the arts and community engagement.
