New Leigh Vicar - A LEIGH church has welcomed a new vicar to lead the congregation.

A LEIGH church has welcomed a new vicar to lead the congregation.

St Clements church on Leigh Broadway held a special service to install The Reverend Myles Owen to be their new rector.

The service was collated by the Bishop of Chelmsford the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, and the Area Dean of Hadleigh Deanery The Revd Peter Hillman.

A spokesperson for the church said: “On Tuesday September 10 we welcomed The Reverend Myles Owen to be our rector here at St Clements.

“It was a joyous occasion and we are looking forward to the new journey we will have with him here.

“Please continue to pray for him and his wife Emily as they settle into their new life here and we look forward to getting to know him as his ministry continues here.”

Revd Owen’s instalment follows the departure of Father Clive Hillman, who had served as parish priest in St Clements since 2014, but left the parish last year to take up a post in Perth, West Australia.
