A LEIGH-based music charity has received a donation from organisers of a local jazz festival.
The Music Man Project, founded by David Stanley, provides musical education for people with additional needs.
The award-winning group thanked Southend Jazz Festival for donating £1,790 to them following their festival in September.
A spokesman for The Music Man Project said: “We’re so grateful to the amazing Southend Jazz Festival who donated to our charity at their festival last month.
“Our global ambassadors were delighted to support some of these events and shake their buckets.
“Thank you to everyone who donated and to all the organisers, performers and audiences.”
The Music Man Project performed a morning of events for the Southend Jazz Festival organisers when the latter visited to hand over the cheque.
A spokesman for Southend Jazz Festival added: “We popped down to see the wonderful people at The Music Man Project UK this week, our chosen charity for 2024, to drop off an incredible £1,790 raised by our incredible audiences, in our collections across the festival.
Thank you so much to all of you for helping us raise this record-breaking total. Thank you, also, to the Music Man ambassadors who came out every day to support the fundraising efforts.”
