YOUNGSTERS from a Leigh theatre school are taking to the Cliffs Pavilion stage as part of a new hit musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The students, from Expressions Theatre Arts, were chosen out of dozens of theatre schools to be part of the hit production also starring Ru Paul Drag race winner The Vivienne in the Westcliff show.
Eights Expressions’ students will perform the role of the urchins, and will star alongside not only The Vivienne, but Adam Garcia and Liam Fox.
The urchins in the show have the misfortune to have been imprisoned in the sewers by the Child Catcher.
Emma Wise, who owns Expressions Theatre Arts, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Expressions have successfully auditioned to supply the urchins for the UK Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
The school got the opportunity when Debbie O’Brien Casting and Crossroads Live got in touch with Essex performing arts schools to seek urchins for the Westcliff leg of the UK-wide tour.
Ms Wise added: “Thank you to Debbie O’Brien Casting and Crossroads Live for giving us this wonderful opportunity.
“Catch us at the Cliffs Pavilion in November.
“Congratulations to Freya, Autumn, Nelia, Jessica, Ruby, Phoebe, Maggie and Evie.”
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will run a matinee and evening show every day between Tuesday November 12 and Saturday November 16.
Tickets can be purchased via from 0343 310 0030.
