A FREE fish and chip lunch is to be held in Leigh.
The Southend charity, Age Concern, which works to support older people, is running the event in collaboration with ex local MP, Anna Firth, and a small group of Leigh-based volunteers.
The event is being sponsored by local business, Rossi Ice-Cream, with music also being provided for free by David Stanley BEM, Founder of the Music Man Project.
The offer of a free fish and chip lunch is being extended to local OAPs, so they can enjoy a warm, welcoming afternoon with free food and community support.
The “Meet, Heat & Eat” event offers guests a complimentary fish and chip lunch, followed by delicious Rossi ice cream for dessert.
Citizens Advice will also be present to provide free advice on a range of issues, making this event an opportunity for anyone who could use guidance or support while enjoying a meal among friends.
The event will take place on Friday, 29th November, from 12:30 pm until 3 pm, at Iveagh Hall, located at 67 Leigh Road, SS9 1JW.
