Christmas Arrives In Rayleigh

THE popular Rayleigh Christmas light switch on brought out the crowds this November, gathering to enjoy the festive celebrations festooning the High Street.

 The event saw families gathered to enjoy food stalls, Children’s rides, games, Christmas gift shopping and an appearance from Santa.

 Road closures facilitated a safe and enjoyable environment for the festive revellers.

 Ten local school choirs took it in turns to take to the stage hosted by BBC Essex, providing carols and fun in the lead up to the main lights switch-on.

 The event, organised by Rayleigh Town Council, was lauded by Families attending as the “best one yet,” in an event that has grown in popularity since bouncing back from the Covid pandemic, which necessitated the event’s cancellation a number of times.
