The event brought the community together with people gathering, with residents and visitors gathering at Leigh Community Centre to enjoy a visit from Santa before strolling to the Library Gardens to see the community green space lit up.

The Leigh Lights have long been a highlight of the town’s Christmas calendar, and this year’s celebration was no exception, despite being a very different spectacle to the parades that used to bring the town alive in decades gone by.

The Christmas lights in the Library Gardens have recently become the focus for community carols, and Friday 29th brought festive songs from The Blackbird Choir, gathered around the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree.
