TWO people have been charged with shoplifting after reports of alcohol being stolen from a supermarket in Rochford.
Police received reports that a man and a woman had entered the Co-Op in Golden Cross Parade, in Rochford, and taken more than £100 of items and made no attempt to pay.
A Police statement confirmed: “A 38-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were both arrested in Westcliff on Monday 9 December in relation to this incident.
“Now, Kerry Stevens, 39, of York Mews in Great Wakering and Daniel Alani, 38, of Eros Avenue in Southend, have both been charged with shoplifting.
“They were remanded in custody ahead of appearing at Southend Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 10 December, and were released on conditional court bail.
“They are next due to appear at Basildon Combined Court 10 January 2025.”
