A WESTCLIFF-based community group conducted their first litter pick of the year, as they made a call out for more volunteers.
Grassroots Westcliff is a volunteer-led initiative on a mission to beautify Westcliff and make the most of it charm and unusual places for the benefit of the community.
For their recent litter pick, 30 Grassroots members cleared around the main streets of Westcliff, whilst members of their Street Task Groups did litter picks of their own streets.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Fab turnout for our first litter pick of 2025.
“What a team.”
Grassroots Westcliff’s work also sees them choose overlooked spots and transform them into green spaces, called “pocket parks”, recent of these being Victory Path, Westcliff Station, and Crowstone Road.
The spokesperson added: “You can be part of our mission to make Westcliff even better too.
“Fill in our quick online membership to be kept informed and get involved.”
Resident are encouraged to go along and help on designated days, information about which and a sign-up form can be found on the group’s Facebook page: Grassroots Westcliff.
