AWARDING-WINNING Leigh-based charity The Music Man Project is releasing a new song this May, in celebration life and resilience.
Living Our Best Life will be released on May 21, to coincide with the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
The song, a collaboration with the Scooppiati Diversamente Band from Rome, is described as a “hymn of joy” and a positive response to life’s difficulties, as part of the project “Best Life”, which seeks to change societal perceptions of disability.
The Music Man Project, founded by David Stanley BEM, is an international charity that uses music education to help people with learning disabilities.
Since being set up 25 years ago, Mr Stanley’s work has inspired more than 16,000 children at music workshops.
This new collaboration comes just after The Music Man Project received the King’s Award for Voluntary Services.
Every year local ambassadors of the charity travel thousands of miles to perform concerts and launch regional Music Man Projects, inspiring people that Music is Magic, the name of one of the project’s previously released singles.
Mr Stanley commented: “I am proud to report that our musical collaboration ‘Best Life’ with the wonderful Scooppiati Diversamente Band in Rome has officially begun.
“It was a truly memorable day.
“It was an honour to meet Peppe and his fellow band members. We can’t wait to release ‘Best Life’.”
The song will be available in all digital stores from release day.
The project is sponsored by the City of Roma Capitale Municipio XI and was made possible with the help of the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund.
