Leigh On Sea News: MP Supports Radiographers – Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, has demonstrated his support for NHS radiographers when he attended a special event in Parliament, to showcase what they do to help patients.

MP Supports Radiographers - Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, has demonstrated his support for NHS radiographers when he attended a special event in Parliament, to showcase what they do to help patients.

MARK Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, has demonstrated his support for NHS radiographers when he attended a special event in Parliament, to showcase what they do to help patients.

The Society of Radiographers (SoR) held an awareness day in the House of Commons, to highlight to MPs how their work is vital to NHS patients and to encourage recruitment and retention into the profession.

Mr Francois, whose wife, Olivia, has worked as an NHS radiographer for almost two decades, went along to demonstrate his backing for their efforts.

Speaking about the event, Mr Francois said: “In supporting this event I should probably declare an interest, as my wife has been working as a radiographer in the NHS for nearly twenty years.

“However, as a result, I have a good understanding of how vital their role is, including in supporting life-saving operations, for instance for sufferers of acute strokes.

“They are a vital part of the wider NHS family and I’m proud of what they do – including my wife as one of them.”
