£1,000 Memorial Donation - A LEIGH-based music charity received a £1,000 donation in memory of the late MP Sir David Amess.
A LEIGH-based music charity received a £1,000 donation in memory of the late MP Sir David Amess.
The Music Man Project UK, founded by David Stanley BEM, was delighted to receive the donation at a reception hosted by the North Thames Ladies Association on April 22.
Held at the Castle Hotel in Southend, the event celebrated the Association’s 68 years of charitable work.
The event was attended by David Stanley and the Music Man Project’s patron Anna Firth, former MP for Leigh and Southend West.
Ms Firth, whose predecessor Sir David Amess was a big supporter of the musical education charity, recommended them for the donation.
A spokesperson for The Music Man Project said: “David Stanley and Anna Firth attended a wonderful reception in Southend for the North Thames Ladies Association.
“It was so inspiring to hear about the amazing causes the ladies have supported and the incredible amount of money the Association has raised during the last 68 years.
“Most of all, we were overwhelmed to receive a donation of £1000, in memory of Sir David Amess who had supported the Association for decades.
“Thank you so very much, and thank you to Anna for recommending The Music Man Project.”
