A MUDDY obstacle course fundraiser raised over £10,000 for Leigh-based children’s cancer charity Gold Geese.

The Nuclear Races event on May 4 saw participants completing a 2k obstacle course in Brentwood. Challenges included swinging on ropes across muddy ponds, climbing through tunnels, jumping across lily pad pontoons and scaling rope ladders and walls, culminating in a steep ‘Death Slide’ into a muddy lake.

Gold Geese founder and CEO, Katie Southgate said: “The Gold Geese Nuclear Races is one of our most popular fundraising events and always has such a great, supportive atmosphere with everyone helping each other and cheering each other on.

“A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their sunny Sunday Bank Holiday morning to join us, we really appreciate your support and incredible fundraising efforts.

“It’s thanks to the generosity of our amazing fundraisers and community that we can be here for every local family affected by childhood cancer.”
