RESIDENTS and staff at Old Leigh House have celebrated Earth Day by cleaning up the public seaside garden in Westcliff.
Volunteers helped clear up areas of Westcliff Gardens in the bright sunshine on April 22, armed with litter pickers.
Joanna Furtak, Activity Coordinator, said: “The team chose Westcliff Gardens at the Southend seafront as our focus area.
“Equipped with litter pickers, our Old Leigh House team set to work clearing three big bags of rubbish and making the area neat and tidy.
“This was a really positive day – our residents were motivated to be part of cleaning our local environment and having an ice cream treat at the finish.”
