PAVEMENTS across Eastwood are set to get a revamp after Liberal democrat councillors secured essential funding.

Works will see re-laying and full pavement repairs in key areas across Eastwood, funded by Southend City Council’s Civic Pride Agenda.

Eastwood Park councillor Paul Collins said: “I am delighted to share that your Lib Dem Councillors have secured funding for full pavement repairs for some of our key pavements across Eastwood.

“This will be the most extensive programme of pavements renewal that Eastwood has ever seen.”

Starting this summer, Southend City Council relay the pavements in Rayleigh Road, from Bosworth Road eastwards to Bellhouse Road and then from outside the Baptist Church towards Walters Close.

Coun Collins added: “The other parts of Rayleigh Road are not being done this year.

“It is important that our residents feel safe walking and whilst we would have wanted more, it is a good start and we will take up all other problem pavements with the Council”

In June and July this year, Nobles Green Road will be fully re-laid.

Looking ahead for the period of 2026 to 2029 the following pavements will also be fully re-laid: Bosworth Road; Bramble Road; Dandies Drive; Fairfield Road; Green Lane; Hudson Crescent; Husdon Road; Rowan Walk; Steeplefield, and Tudor Road
