STAFF and residents from Pinetree Cre Home in Rayleigh, raised funds for Dementia UK and The Alzheimer’s Society with a bake sale and raffle.

They were joined by friends, family and local councillors, including Rochford Lib Dem councillor Sara-Jane Page, to raise cash with cake sales and raffle prizes.

The event raised £475 to help combat Dementia and Alzheimer’s, both of which affect around just under one million people nationally.

A spokesperson for the care home said: “What a fantastic day we shared with residents, their families and friends, future residents, staff and the community.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for coming today, for donating cakes, raffle prizes and being part of this special day.

“We raised a whopping £475 for our charities, Dementia UK and The Alzheimer’s Society. This money will mean so much to so many.”

“Special thanks go to S. Stibbards & Sons for their incredible donation to our raffle.”

They added: “Thanks to Coun Page and Coun Linden for coming and spending your valuable time with our residents. To Coun Brewer for joining us and for everything you do for people living with dementia. To the Pinetree staff who worked hard to make the event the success it was.”
