New Rochford Administration

A NEW Administration has been appointed to lead Rochford District Council after being voted in at Annual Council on Tuesday 20 May.

 Three political groups; the Conservative Group, Rochford District Residents Group (RDR), and the Rochford and Foulness Wakering Independents Group (RFWI) have formed a new Administration which will now lead the District.

 Coun Danielle Belton has been appointed to be the new Leader of the Council and Coun John Mason will serve as Deputy Leader.

 Following the meeting of Annual Council, Leader of the Conservative Group, Coun Belton, said: “The Conservative Group are pleased to be working with RDR and RFWI over the coming year on shared priorities for the District.

 “Given the current uncertainty due to Local Government reform, we believe that transparent, engaging and Member led leadership is vital for the future of the District, and that is what we intend to deliver.”

 Coun John Mason, Party Leader for Rochford District Residents (RDR) added “We in RDR are glad to recognise common priorities also held by others for our District and it is vital in being able to continue to have a Councillor led Administration in these challenging times.

 “RDR is working for residents in a coalition with two other Groups.”

 Coun Arthur Williams, Group Leader for Rochford, Foulness & Wakering Independents Group said “We are pleased to be part of the new administration, sharing common goals for our District, returning to a more transparent, member led administration, essential in these changing times.

 “Rochford, Foulness & Wakering Independents are working for our residents in association with two other Groups.”
