AS part of Leigh Horticultural Society’s Centenary celebrations, the Society held a special Centenary lunch at the Chalkwell Park Rooms in Leigh’s Chalkwell Park.
Along with the Society’s members, Southend’s Mayor and Mayoress, Coun and Mrs Folkard attended the lunch. Leigh Town Council’s new Chairman, Coun. Dr. David Bowry, who is Patron for his year in office, also attended the three course meal.
Based in Leigh, the Society describes itself as a ‘friendly bunch of gardening enthusiasts.’ They hold four shows a year as well as talks, outings and events. New members are always welcome and the Society can be contacted via Facebook, by searching: Leigh Horticultural Society.
