Tuppenny Bunters Play

SOUTHEND musicians and creative powerhouses Tuppenny Bunters will be taking to the stage of the Dixon Studio on Thursday 17 July, with their self-penned play ‘Th’Air BnB.’

Tuppenny Bunters are former Pub Landlords Dave & Fi Dulake. Both talented musicians, since leaving the Railway Pub in Southend, they have been trying their hand at drama.

Th’Air BnB is a two-hander in two acts, set in a flat in Southend. The tenants of the flat, Badge and Vince, decide to rent the flat out on Airbnb to raise some extra cash. Being arty, hippie types, they are ill equipped to provide the standards expected by Annie & Neil who book the accommodation to attend a funeral.

Annie and Neil have travelled from Buxton in Derbyshire to the funeral in Southend and are expecting something a little more upmarket than they find. Will they weather the many shortcomings of this quirky abode?

The Dulakes have written two previous stage shows. They performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with one – Fifteen Minute Break, which they performed for the entire month and got a ‘pretty decent’ review in The Scotsman.

Well known across Southend and growing a following across Europe, where the Tuppenny Bunters tour regularly, Mr and Mrs Dulake never fail to delight, and this is a show not to be missed by theatre goers or fans of the Bunters alike.
