A LEIGH charity shop has celebrated one year of serving the community.
St Vincent’s Shop in Eastwood Road North marked the occasion by thanking its “amazing customers.”
The shop is run by a team of staff and volunteers who help raise finds for the work of the local branch of St Vincent’s de Paul (SVP) society’s community hub in Short Street.
Kimberley O’Connell, who manages the shop alongside Nicola Barthaud and Diane Logue, expressed her thanks to the volunteers: “All the team are instrumental to the success of this little community shop.
“We must remember volunteers are the backbone of what we do.”
A spokesperson added a message to customers: “We appreciate your support and generosity.
“Your loyalty means the world to us, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve you. Whether you’re a new customer or have been with us for a while, thank you for being a part of our journey.”
The Society SVP is a global organisation that provides direct assistance to those in need through food, clothing, financial aid, and policy advocacy for social justice. Its volunteer members support the marginalized, sick, lonely, and imprisoned with care and companionship.
