A SOUTH Essex MP attended a special dinner, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of his local Rotary Club.
Mark Francois, Rayleigh and Wickford’s MP, was a guest at a dinner at the Rayleigh Club, on Hullbridge Road, to mark the founding of the ‘Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill’ – back in June 1995.
Mr Francois, who has been an honorary member of the club since 2009, spoke at the black tie dinner, alongside Rotary Club President, Ian Reading.
Commenting on the special event, Mr Francois said: “As someone who has been an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill for sixteen years – so just over half their existence – I was honoured to join Rotary President Ian Reading and the other Club members and their guests at this special event.
“The Club has raised literally hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes – both local and national – since it was founded three decades ago and I wish them all the best of luck for their next thirty years and beyond. It was a great evening.”
