ONE of the Vulcan Restoration Trust’s most popular musical events is returning to Southend Airport this month.
The Proms at the Vulcan event will take place on Saturday July 12 at the aircraft’s Southend Airport hangar, welcoming an orchestra to play alongside the iconic Cold War Vulcan XL426.
A spokesperson for the Vulcan Restoration Trust, which manages the restoration and maintenance of the aircraft, said: “Proms at the Vulcan is back in 2025 for another exciting evening with the Essex Concert Orchestra performing a selection of popular and classical music alongside Vulcan XL426 at London Southend Airport.
“The orchestra comprises some of Essex’s top musicians and includes professional musicians, students at prominent London and Essex music colleges, and local music teachers.
“It is a member of Southend-on-Sea Arts Council and performs at venues across Essex and further afield.”
The orchestra perform a selection of popular and classical pieces alongside from 7 pm, with gates to the event opening at 5.30 pm.
The concert is scheduled to finish at 9.30 pm.
Advance tickets are now on sale, and with Proms at the Vulcan having sold out in in the last three years..
Tickets are £24.00 adults; £16.00 under-16s. Booking fees apply.
