LEIGH team members who completed a 100,000-step moonlight walking challenge along the seafront have raised £2,500 for a neonatal charity.
Seb Coombs and Tom Ayre, both from Leigh, took on the challenge in aid of Ickle Pickles Children’s Charity, which donates life-saving equipment to neonatal units across the country.
The friends, from Leigh-based firms THS Concepts, Sculpt 3D and Rocket Growth, completed the ‘Southendurance’ on Friday 21st June, walking a gruelling 46 miles between Leigh and Shoeburyness between 12 midnight and 3 am.
Mr Coombs said: “We are proud to support such a vital cause, which is so close to our heart. The Ickle Pickles charity does incredible work — something our family has experienced first-hand.
“This challenge is a fantastic way for the local community to come together and make a real difference.”
Kat Khalife, a spokesperson for Ickle Pickles, added: “We are deeply appreciative of the fantastic effort by THS concepts, Sculpt 3D and Rocket Growth and their teams in this ‘Southendurance’ challenge.
“Their passion and commitment not only help us provide essential equipment to neonatal units, but also highlight the urgent needs of premature and sick babies.
“With their support, we can give every new-born a fighting chance for a healthy start in life.”
