A CHARITY event held in May has raised an impressive £34,000 to support the work of Southend Hospital.
The annual ‘Tackle the Tower’ challenge sees intrepid fundraisers abseil 154 feet down the tower block at Southend Hospital.
A spokesperson said: “We are proud to announce that this year’s Tackle the Tower Abseil; kindly sponsored by Ryan & Walsh Ltd, has impressively raised over £34,000 to date.
“This money will benefit over 30 different areas of our hospital network.
“We are delighted with the achievement; thank you very much once again for your associated involvement.
“Charitable giving by patients, the local community and businesses has always played and will continue to play a vital role in our hospital, helping to provide state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and ensuring the best possible standards for our patients.
“On behalf of all the patients who will benefit from your efforts, thank you once again for supporting Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity, your contribution is greatly appreciated.”
