THE annual Foulness Bike Ride is set to take place this July, offering participate in a unique opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity of Foulness, whilst raising money for charity.
The delightful annual event that invites individuals and families of all ages and abilities to experience a special event on the beautiful island, close to both Southend and Rochford.
Held on Sunday, July 21, this community event is a perfect opportunity to explore the island’s natural marshland landscape, which is home to diverse wildlife and a very unique history.
Participants can enjoy the ride on a variety of bicycles, including push bikes, electric bikes, three-wheelers, and unicycles.
This inclusive event allows riders to choose their own pace and enjoy the serene surroundings, with the option of supporting the Rotary charity’s Southend Hospital Cancer Spotlight Appeal or a charity of their own choice.
During the ride, visitors are encouraged to stop by the Heritage Centre, which offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Foulness Island’s residents.
The Centre will be open, serving cakes, drinks, and snacks, making it a perfect pit stop to refresh and learn more about the island’s heritage.
