Army’s New Ministers

NEW ministers are taking the Leigh branch of The Salvation Army into its next chapter, as they take over from the outgoing Major Robert Davis and his wife Clare Davis.
New leaders Captains Andrew and Nicola Hammond have been received as the new leaders at The Salvation Army church in Elm Road.
The official welcome took place on Sunday September 13th, in a service attend by the Mayor and Mayoress of Southend, Coun Tony Cox and his wife. The installation was carried out by Major Linley Oliver.
Peter Jones of The Leigh Salvation Army said: “Andrew and Nicola come to us from our International College for Officers at Sunbury where they have worked with Salvation Army officers from overseas.
“They have two older children who have not yet arrived in Leigh. I am sure they would be happy to meet anyone who dropped in at Elm Road.”
Outgoing leaders Rob and Clare joined the church in 2022, and have now moved to a new appointment.
