A HADLEIGH care home united in support of asthma and hospice charities with a Barbie-themed event.
In a heart-warming display of unity and generosity, team members, residents and residents at Elizabeth House Care Home in Benfleet Road embraced the vibrant spirit of the occasion by embodying their favourite Barbie or Ken personas, all in the name of charity.
Participation in this spirited competition required a modest £2 donation, which served as a contribution to the selected charities.
The highlight of the event was a contest to identify the best-dressed Barbie or Ken, with the victor earning a coveted £50 Love2Shop voucher.
Amidst this collective celebration, inspired by the release of a new Barbie film, the Runwood Homes group showcased it’s commitment to philanthropy.
The group’s joint efforts culminated in a grand total of £866 raised to support the endeavours of Asthma and Lung UK as well as Havens Hospices.
A spokesperson for Runwood Homes said: “We were absolutely over the moon to see all the homes participating in this year’s Barbie fundraising celebrations.
“To see all the residents, families and teams dress in their best barbie and ken costumes was wonderful experience for us all, and it was great to see everyone having so much fun.
“Collectively we raised an impressive amount for the charities. The plans are already in motion for the next themed fundraiser and we can’t wait to unveil this to the Runwood Homes group.”
