SWIMMERS at Chalkwell Beach went for a chilly plunge for breast cancer prevention to launch a new pioneering partnership that encourages health awareness.

The event, held on March 29, was organised by Own The Adventure (OTA), a sustainable swimwear brand, to celebrate its official partnership with Breast Cancer UK.

The collaboration aims to inspire individuals to reduce their breast cancer risk through engaging in inspiring and positive physical activities.

The event was designed to motivate women to take charge of their health while enjoying the outdoors, and was also supported by Chill UK, a non-profit advocating cold water swimming to treat anxiety and depression.

Thalie Martini, CEO at Breast Cancer UK, said: “Partnering with Own The Adventure gives us a unique opportunity to engage a new audience and empower them to make their health a priority.

“We know that 30 per cent of breast cancer cases are preventable, and we’re excited about the potential of this collaboration, which aligns perfectly with our vision of creating a world where everyone is informed, supported, and equipped to take control of their breast health.”

OTA’s partnership with Breast Cancer UK is driven by a shared mission to educate the public about the importance of breast self-examination and promote a culture of health and wellness through outdoor exploration.

A portion of the proceeds from each purchase of OTA’s swimsuits will be donated to Breast Cancer UK, aiding in funding vital research and education on prevention.

The partnership’s call to action, “Love yourself, Check Yourself,” will be featured inside every OTA swimsuit, alongside a range of limited-edition swimsuits and accessories, designed to inspire confidence, adventure, and commitment to health.
