British Legion poppy appeal

Two hampers being donated to Coun Keith Evans accompanied by Maggie Dumanska and Kristina Boicuka from Leigh Town Council.

LAST year Leigh on Sea constitutional club donated over £5,000 for the Leigh Royal British Legion Annual Poppy Appeal. 

 This year they have donated a total of £7,008, which was raised during a quiz night and a number of other recent events.

 The picture shows Poppy Appeal organiser Jill O’Leary receiving the donation from Penny Gunn and Colin Joseph representing the constitutional club.

 The current total for the Leigh Branch Poppy Appeal is a magnificent £28,137.69 and the branch would like to express their thanks to all local residents and collectors for their continued support.

 The branch are delighted to support the initiative by Leigh Town Council, inviting residents to donate Christmas hampers which will be will be donated to deserving local families. Over 130 hampers have already been distributed.
