A CHARITY presentation took place recently at The Broker Pub in Leigh Road, Leigh.

Thomas Vincent was the winner of a charity fundraising game that runs alongside their regular Thursday night pub quiz and decided that the 50% charity portion totalling £1,236.50 should go to Havens Hospice.

Nigel Thomas, quiz organiser, said “We have been running this charity raising game for 5 years now and over that period we have raised £6,330.00 for a number of local charities.

“If nobody wins on the night, the pot rolls over to the following week, so the sum involved can accumulate to a significant amount.

“This time the game went down right to the wire. It’s great that it has finally been won and Thomas wanted it to go to a local charity that was close to his and his team mates hearts.

“Lucy Lock and Ella Huber-Brown from Havens Hospice were invited to attend the weekly quiz where the donation was handed over to an enthusiastic round of applause and the popular charity game has now restarted.

“It takes place every Thursday from 8:30pm at The Broker pub in Leigh.”
