Built Together Campaign

SOUTHEND based homelessness charity HARP is launching a new appeal to house builders and developers, calling on the industry to help tackle homelessness by partnering with the charity to create stronger, more resilient communities.
The appeal comes as 2,155 families and individuals across Essex are living in temporary accommodation, highlighting the growing housing crisis across the county.
The campaign also comes at a time of renewed national focus on homelessness, following Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s commitment to end long-term rough sleeping and invest in Housing First and social housing.
HARP believes national ambition must be matched by local action, with businesses playing a vital role in creating lasting change.
“You build homes. We help people find them,” said Tara Carty, Corporate Partnerships Manager at HARP.
That simple connection is at the heart of HARP’s Built Together campaign, inviting developers to support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness while delivering meaningful social impact.
Ms Carty added: “The Government’s renewed commitment to ending rough sleeping is an important step forward, but achieving that ambition will require collaboration across every community.
“House builders don’t just shape places, they can help shape lives.
“Our Built Together appeal brings together businesses that care about the communities they build with a charity committed to ensuring nobody is left without the support they need. If we’re serious about ending homelessness, we all have a role to play.”
Corporate partnerships with HARP can include fundraising, volunteering, sponsorship, skills sharing and long-term strategic support, helping businesses deliver measurable community impact while supporting people experiencing homelessness.
HARP is inviting developers of all sizes, from regional builders to national housebuilding companies operating across Essex, to join the appeal and become part of the solution.
