A NUMBER of events are held at the Fishermen’s Chapel in New Road, Old Leigh each month.
Residents are invited to attend the following:
1st Sunday of the month – 9.30am – Family Holy Communion – traditional service for all ages.
2nd Sunday – 7.30pm Gospel Vespers – Gospel Service with 2 choirs, The Fishermen’s Chapel Gospel Choir and the Monday Singers. Arrive early for a seat. Refreshments from 7pm (please bring a travel mug!)
3rd Sunday 7.30pm ‘Anchored’ – Active church, different every month! Activities include prayer walks, writing to MPs on social justice issues, watching a film, litter picking etc.
4th Sunday – 7.30pm Mindfulness and Meditation – 45 mins of mindfulness, closing in prayer. Ideal for those suffering from anxiety, depression or who just want a peaceful start to the week.
Their Gospel Choir rehearses on ad hoc days – contact Revd Heather Simmons for more information on 07879 232231.
There are coffee mornings every Wednesday 10.30-12pm (apart from August when they meet at Belfairs Woodland Centre at the same time)
All their services welcome people of all faiths or none. They are a fully inclusive church including all from the LGBTQ+ community.
