Leigh On Sea News: By Peter Little Reform UK

By Peter Little Reform UK

Like many people I believe that our country is facing severe challenges on so many fronts.

We have records levels of immigration, mainly legal, record levels of taxation, record levels of hospital waiting lists, record levels of unsolved crime and a worrying reduction in energy security.

The country needs REFORM.  If like me, you believe we have too many career politicians, now is the time to give a chance to the LITTLE man. Reform UK is passionate in its belief that it can change direction by implementing the following policies:-

  • Freeze non essential immigration but target the essential skills our economy needs such as doctors, nurses and business people who could be successful here.
  • Leave the ECHR and control our borders.
  • Restrict foreign students’ dependents allowing only international students with required skills to remain in the UK when their studies finish.

Reform is adamant that healthcare remains free at the point of use and strong endeavours will be made to get to zero waiting lists in 2 years.

In order to achieve this it is proposed that all front line NHS and social care staff pay basic rate tax for 3 years. Furthermore, waiting lists will be cut by using UK and overseas providers and by offering tax relief of 20% on all private healthcare insurance, thereby reducing pressure on the NHS.

Reform will scrap green net zero and related subsidies. The UK produces only 1% of global CO2 emissions; yet China produces 27% and continues to build hundreds of coal fired power stations. Ditching net zero would save the public sector £20bn per annum.

We need to use the energy treasure under our feet by fast tracking licences for North Sea gas and oil and grant shale gas licences on test sights for 2 years.

Reform wants an education system that ensures young people learn the skills, character and values to succeed in life. Reform would ban transgender ideology in primary and secondary schools, ban critical race theory in those schools and introduce tax relief of 20% on all independent education fees.

Reform would target the recruitment of 40k new police officers over the next 5 years with an  emphasis on zero tolerance policing and common sense policing.

We will increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP by year three and to 3% within 6 years.

The benefit system will be overhauled by making it more attractive to work than to receive benefits. This will be achieved by lifting the income tax start point to £20k and for all job seekers who are fit for work to find employment with 4 months.

This is an ambitious programme which can achieve savings of over £50bn per annum. It is radical but it will lead to enlarged economic growth, better education prospects, secure borders, enhanced energy security and better health outcomes.

So on 4 July Think Big, Vote Little. Britain Needs Reform.
