A RAYLEIGH café pushed the boat out for their Coronation celebrations, with a special commemorative event.

Proprietor, Tony Crosby and his team at The Laughing Pear Café, on the London Road, decked their premises out in bunting and baked a special Coronation cake to commemorate Charles III being officially crowned King.

MP for Rayleigh and Wickford MPMark Francois, took time out during the Bank Holiday weekend to support the café’s happy event, at the end of what had been an extremely busy weekend, which saw Mr Crosby welcome hundreds of customers through his doors.

Commenting on the event, Mr Francois said: “The celebrations at the Laughing Pear Cafe was one of several Coronation events that I attended over the long Coronation weekend and it was great to see a local business in my constituency well and truly getting into the Coronation spirit.

“Tony and his team welcomed a large number of people over the long weekend who were keen to show their support for our new King and Queen.

“The Laughing Pear has always been a popular venue and I wish Tony and all his team the very best for the future.”
