LEIGH charity Serving the Homeless will be holding its final fundraising event, ‘Carols for Christmas’, on Friday December 15, after 30 years of supporting the area’s homeless.
‘Carols for Christmas’ will start at 7pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Leigh.
The event will be a combined local initiative of, Catholic, Anglican and Methodist Churches in Leigh; Supporting Southend YMCA, HARP, and St Vincent’s Centre Southend.
‘Carols for Christmas’ will feature the ‘Sea of Voices Choir’ and YMCA followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the Parish Centre.
A spokesperson said: It will be a lovely evening, but very sad to be closing the shutters after 30 years of successfully raising money for the homeless.
“We will finish off serving mince pies and mulled wine in the Parish Centre.
“It would be so good to have a full house at our farewell.”
