RESIDENTS at a Raleigh care home honoured carers during national carers week.
The annual celebration from June 9-15th aims to raises awareness of the challenges faced by carers across the country, highlighted the struggles of unpaid carers including poverty and social isolation.
Pine Tree care home in Rayleigh took part in the awareness week with a host of activities and celebrations.
Damien King, general manager at Pine Tree care home said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate carers.
“We thanked our fantastic carers for all that they do to support our residents and their families.
“It was a privilege to treat them to chocolate, ice cream, and pizza.”
The weeklong celebration at Pine Tree run by Barchester healthcare featured special mentions of thanks to the caring staff, from residents and their families.
The week ended with a visit to Rossi’s ice cream parlour in Westcliff seafront.
