A GROUP of Leigh singers have compiled a 2024 Charity Calendar in tribute to their late supporter, Sir David Amess.
Entitled ‘Out & About’, each month of the glossy A4-size calendar features ladies of The Orpheus Singers of the choir in a different location in Southend and further afield performing in Chelmsford Cathedral and Romsey Abbey, Hampshire.
A choir member explained: “Sir David was instrumental in setting up the charity the Dame Vera Lynn Memorial Fund, and we, with the support of local businesses – Leigh on Sea Brewery, S. Stibbards & Sons and PDS Digital – will send proceeds from sales of the calendar to this statue fund.”
Anna Firth MP, who took up Sir David’s Amess’s seat after is tragic death in 2021, said: “The calendar is marvellous.”
Founded in 2008 in Hadleigh, the choir has a membership of 80 singers.
As a Registered Charity, their many performances enable the support of many local, national and international charities.
The Orpheus Singers 2024 Charity Calendar is priced at £10, which includes postage & packing. To order your copy, simply contact [email protected]
