Charity Skydive

LOCAL estate agents Gilbert & Rose took to the sky for a charity skydive that nearly didn’t happen.

 Perry, Charlene, Claudia, Emma, Frazer, Jacob, John, Sam, Sarah, Tara and Tegan each completed a tandem skydive raising over £6,500 for HARP Southend’s Homeless Charity.

This brave group were originally set to jump on 19^th May 2024, but after getting psyched up and trained up by instructors from Go Sky Dive at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent, their jump was cancelled at the 11^th hour.

As the team sat waiting with their parachutes on their backs and butterflies in their stomachs, the plane which had been taking people in to the cloudless sky all day was grounded due to a fuel leak.

Not to be deterred the jump was rescheduled for July. They could only hope that their nerves and the weather would hold out.

Fortunately, the weather and their nerves were on top form when they finally got to soar into the blue skies over Kent on Sunday 28.

“What an experience! And all the funds are going to help out the people who need it the most” said Emma after making the 12,000 foot jump. “I encourage everyone to do an event like this”.

All of the money raised will go to support the work of HARP, providing support to people facing and experiencing homelessness in Southend.
