CHOIR members from Leigh and Wickford were part of a national effort to raise £35,000 for Comic Relief.
The Leigh and Wickford branches of Rock Choir, which has choirs across the UK, raised more than £1500 in cake sales raffles and donations at their performances.
Collectively, Rock Choir across the country raised £35,000 for Comic Relief, but that figure is still rising.
Chris Burgess, local Rock Choir leader said: “We have held informal performances to friends and family organised a raffle, sold cakes and drinks and performed for over an hour.
“Some of our newer Rockies were little nervous as it was the first time they had performed anywhere to anyone, but everyone soon relaxed and enjoyed every minute.
“Everyone was very generous in three evenings and we raised over £1500.
“I’m so proud of all my members and thankful to the friends and family who attended.”
