THE Southend Choral Society will be performing J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion this month, led by music director Roger Humphries.
The concert taking place on Saturday April 27 will be a full performance of the Baroque composers’ sacred oratorio, accompanied by Southend Concert Orchestra, led by Jo Stephens.
Joining the choir will be the internationally-renowned Southend Boys and Girls Choir. Soloists in the production will be Ella Joy soprano; Ruby Bak contralto; Nathan Stubbins evangelist; Colin Gilmore tenor; Nicholas Bacon Christus, and Gary Griffiths bass.
The concert starts at 7 pm at Kings Road United Reformed Church, 91 Crowstone Road, Westcliff, SS0 8LH.
