HARP Appeals for Support During the National Christmas Big Give Challenge 2024 – 3rd to 10th December.

 HARP, Southend’s leading homeless charity, is participating in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, taking place from 3rd to 10th December. As the UK’s largest collaborative fundraising campaign, the Big Give brings together philanthropists, foundations, and businesses to double public donations for participating charities.

 Thanks to the generosity of anonymous local donors, every donation made to HARP during the campaign will be matched pound for pound.

 With the rising cost of living impacting everyone, this means even small contributions can make a big difference to those in need this Christmas. Donating money to fund one hot breakfast becomes two.

 Agata Elliott, Director of Fundraising and Communications at HARP, said: “The Big Give offers a fantastic opportunity to maximise the impact of our fundraising efforts.

 “We are incredibly grateful to the generous local donors who have agreed to match donations next week. It’s heartening to see local and national communities coming together to support charities like HARP, especially during such a critical time of year.”

 HARP aims to raise £44,000 during this campaign. Every penny will go toward funding the ongoing costs of the Bradbury Day Centre, a vital facility providing Southend’s rough sleepers with daily access to food, warmth, clothing, and essential services.

 Each individual seeking help is also allocated a dedicated support worker to help them into housing and out of ongoing homelessness.
