Christmas Hamper Plea

A PRIMARY school in Chalkwell is calling on residents to support it Christmas hamper appeal this festive season.
Chalkwell Hall Junior School are delivering the hampers to support Southend families in need and ensure no child goes hungry this Christmas, and pupils are asking for the public’s help.
Each hamper, to be dropped at Leigh Community Centre, should include festive treats, pantry staples, and a little holiday magic to bring joy to homes that are struggling with the ongoing cost of living crisis.
A council spokesman said: “Share the joy of Christmas with a thoughtful hamper and spread some Christmas cheer.
“This holiday season, Chalkwell Hall Junior School are delivering Christmas hampers to support local families in need – and we need your help.”
Residents can help by collecting a box and filling it with non-perishables, snacks, and something sweet, to then be delivered to Leigh Community Centre.
Alternatively, they can be left underneath Leigh Town Council’s Christmas tree when it is up in the foyer of the Community Centre.
Boxes must be delivered by December 14.
