THIS year’s panto at the Cliffs Pavilion will see comedian Joe Pasquale as Smee joined by popular TV judge Rob Rinder, as Captain Hook in the ever popular Peter Pan.

Mr Rinder has been presiding over cases in his TV courtroom since 2014 as Judge Rinder and came fifth in the 2016 season of Strictly Come Dancing.

Mr Rinder was awarded a BAFTA for an episode of the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are where he explored his Jewish heritage, and last year presented a critically-acclaimed BBC documentary series My Family, The Holocaust & Me.

Mr Rinder said: “After sharing my glittering reflections with the people of Milton Keynes last year in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, I’m delighted to be returning to pantomime alongside panto royalty Joe Pasquale.

“This time I’ll be bringing less sparkle and more wickedness to Southend, climbing aboard the Jolly Roger as Captain Hook!”

Peter Pan will take audiences on a swashbuckling adventure and will include all your favourites from Neverland including Tinker Bell and Wendy, John, and Michael Darling.

With amazing special effects, stunning sets, beautiful costumes and barrel-loads of laughter, you will be transported to Neverland like never before!

Peter Pan begins its high-flying adventure at The Cliffs Pavilion from Saturday December 9 until Sunday 31 December 2023.
