Co-Op’s Cheque Presentation

THE Leigh Road Co-op store and Southend community fund have donated money to Southend YMCA’s vegetable growing efforts.

New funds will go towards the local charity’s Youth Garden Project, allowing youngsters to grow and harvest vegetables and herbs for their cooking club.

Southend YMCA thanked the Co-Op for the donation, with a representative from the charity being presented with a cheque by Darrell Binding, Co-op Member Pioneer for the City of Southend.

A spokesperson from YMCA added: “Every sprout tells a story of growth and empowerment as part of our meaningful activities programme.”
