DURING the six-week summer holidays, Leigh community centre is bustling with a variety of activities tailored for children of all ages.
These programs aim to engage, educate, and entertain, ensuring that kids have a memorable and productive summer break.
Children can unleash their creativity in arts and crafts sessions from Sketchy Arts & Crafts on August 3rd and 7th, from 2 to 4pm and 10.45 to 12/45 pm respectively.
During these sessions, children get to make a selection of things like necklaces and bags, in a session specifically designed for parents and children to spend quality time and make art together.
Meanwhile, Princess Arts and Crafts comes to the centre on August 27th, promising to be an Ice Queen’s summer party.
There will be games, dancing, crafts and glitter tattoos, alongside photo opportunities, and even magic bubbles.
On all three sessions, children can and enjoy trying out media and developing artistic expression.
IN addition to these sessions, another sparkling event is to be held on August 27th at the centre with their popular ‘Frozen’ Workshop, where participants can meet Elsa, and enjoy arts, crafts, singing, dancing and glitter face paint!
Sports Days will take place on 29th July and 5th August, both from 12 noon to 2 pm.
To promote physical fitness and teamwork, the community centre will offer a range of sports activities in the multi-use games area.
Fun and laughter is the order of the day on August 1st, with Joe Bana Party disco from 12.30 to 2 30 pm, and with two dates of Punch and Judy shows on 27th and 28th August.
Each Punch and Judy day, to be held on Strand Wharf in Old Leigh, will feature two shows, at 12 noon and 2 pm, so there is every opportunity to catch this classic and beloved entertainment, which is also free of charge.
