SOUTHEND Choral Society are presenting a seasonal collection of song in their upcoming event, “A Concert for Summer,” taking place on Saturday, July 20th.
This evening will feature not only the Southend Choral Society, but also guest soloists and the Southend Girls’ Choir.
Under the skilled direction of conductor Roger Humphrey and with the accompaniment of Rosemary Pennington, the program promises a rich tapestry of British musical offerings.
The repertoire includes Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, with text from William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, and his Five Mystical Songs.
Additionally, attendees will be treated to John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit, a vibrant collection of spirituals, along with pieces by Parry.
Tickets are priced at ÂŁ10 for adults and ÂŁ2 for those under 18.
