A TALENTED knitter marked the coronation of King Charles III with unique woolly wonders.
Linda Catling, Leigh’s well-known Royal Mail “Banksy”, has been creating decorative post box toppers to celebrate the royal occasion.
Mrs Catling, 76, who lost her sight during the time of Covid, has been making toppers for the last three years, charming residents with her seasonally-themed creations and gaining national press attention for them.
She said: “I’ve always been a bit a big royalist and I’ve got all my flags out. My home is draped in them!”
One of Linda’s royal creations is on her usual spot of the Marine Parade post box, whilst others were displayed in the Dressmakers Fabric window in Leigh Broadway.
These are not the first royal toppers staunch Royalist Linda has made.
Linda’s toppers to celebrate the Jubilee last year caught everyone’s eye, and she also received letters from the late Queen and Princess Anne following her knitted memorial for the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh.
