With a street party in Old Leigh out of the question, Osbornes Fish merchants allowed the clubs to use their fish dock for a party. Organiser s party said: “even though we were likely to get our feet wet.
“It was great fun day and to be remembered for a long time.
“Members of the public also joined in, and this sort of thing I am sure can only happen in good old Britain.
“I think the pageantry and traditions, are what makes this country famous around the world.
“I personally think that it would be very sad day if we got rid of the monarchy and all that goes with it, and a much greyer place and a great loss to our tourism trade.”
