Cosmic Canine Adventure

Discover a cosmic canine adventure, a spooky house and cryptic clues when children’s author Amanda Brandon visits Southend Forum for half-term fun on Tuesday October 27.

The free event suitable for youngsters aged five to 10 starts at 11am. Ms Brandon, a member of Leigh Writers’ Group has written over 25 books for children, many of which have been translated into other languages.

“This year is National Year of Reading and stories with secrets, sleuths and puzzle solving are brilliant ways to encourage children to pick up a book,” Ms Brandon said.

She added, “When my debut picture book, A Scarf and a Half came out 12 years ago I created a 13ft long scarf to accompany my school and library visits and it proved a great way to encourage children to use their imagination and engage with reading.”

Ms Brandon will be sharing her latest books and signing copies on the day.
