Danceland’s Double Celebration

A BELOVED dancewear shop has celebrated its first year in Leigh, while marking its 50th anniversary.
Danceland at Dalby’s, a long-time stalwart of London Road in Westcliff, packed its bags and moved to 195 Leigh Road last August.
The iconic store held its grand reopening at its new location on the first weekend of August 2025. Now, staff and supporters have marked the milestone with a special seasonal sale and celebration.
Owner Nicola said: “We had such a wonderful day celebrating being in business for 50 years and being part of a fantastic community in Leigh on our first birthday.
“We had lots of loyal customers and new ones that came along to celebrate with us.”
Established on London Road in 1976 by Norma and Tony Silverstein, the shop has long been a favourite among local dancers of all ages, stocking everything from custom clothing and accessories to pointe shoe fittings, as well as supporting various dance schools.
“Danceland at Dalby’s is enjoying its new home on Leigh Road and looks forward to welcoming both loyal customers and new faces through its doors.”
